Doug Overman’s career spans 30 years in nonprofit management, fundraising, program development, strategic planning, partnerships, communications, and external affairs, with a special focus on connecting communities to their parks and public spaces. Doug has served as Chief Advancement Officer of Houston Parks Board, overseeing a capital campaign and annual development, communications, marketing, and advocacy, including public-private partnerships, public funding, policy, and government and community relations.
Previously Doug was the Park Director for the Levy Park Conservancy, which manages Levy Park, a six-acre, renovated and revitalized City of Houston park. Doug served as Executive Vice President at the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy in San Francisco, where he oversaw education and volunteer programs, partnership development, board development, and capital and program fundraising and public funding. Doug has devoted his career to parks, education, youth, urban improvement, environment, and cross-sector partnerships. He has an MBA from the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business and a BA in history from UCLA.
